| By Team4green reporters.We had to be ready in de hallway at 7:15 am, because we were going to eat breakfast at a little café. First we got something to drink and after that we got a hot bagel with egg and melted cheese. It was really delicious! After breakfast we went to the Tantramar Regional High School. When we got there we had to do an assignment wherefor you needed to talk with the Tantramar students. It was kind of like Bingo. After that we went doing watertests the summary of that will also come here. We had to do a presentation about the results of the test, in English and Dutch. Between everything we did we had a break to eat. In the lunchbreak we went eating in the cafeteria. There were all kinds of things: pizza, chickenburger, wraps etc. after lunchbreak we went to the wetland. We had to wear really ugly suits, but we could go really far into the water. So we had to catch little animals. After that we watched the animals. After that we went back to the school. At the moment we are on the computer and we writing this. Tonight we have a little party with the students of the Tantramar. It’s really Fantastic! |

| Friday May 8th 2009 |
| By Team4green reporters.Today after we woke up at 6:45 we went to eat breakfast. We went to the same café as we did yesterday. We also ate the same breakfast as yesterday, a bagel with cheese and egg. Around 8:15 we were at the Tantramar Regional High School. We first played the game pictionary. The names of a couple animals we found yesterday were on the cards. After that we made a start to write a module. After that we went to the lab. We looked at the water from the wetland through a microscope. After lunch break we played some games. We started with playing predators and herbivores. There were 4 groups. There was one group that had only 1 person in it, this person was allowed to ‘eat’ everyone from the other groups. The herbivores weren’t allowed to eat other persons. The only thing they could do was to collect eggs and staying away from the other groups. It rained before we went outside, so everything was wet. Due to the wet grass and rain everyone was wet at the end. The next game we played was soccer. After that we went back to the classroom. There we gave Miss Ball a couple of presents, we also had some time to talk. After the Canadian students left, we had some time to work at the modules and to do some private stuff. |

| Voor Henry Kap. |
| On Friday May 8th at 4 pm, we received a phone call from Corlaer School, with the very sad news that our teacher, colleague and friend Henry Kap died at the age of 36 in an Kite surfing accident.Words of unbelieve, tears, hugs, crying… more than 5000 km’s away we need a place to share our sadness, our tears and our dear memories to Henry. On this page, in Dutch, we will honor Henry and we want to share with his wife Cristien, his children and parents how we feel connected to you all. |

| Vrijdagmiddag 8 mei 4 uur.Om 4 uur kregen we het vreselijke bericht van het overlijden van Henry Kap via een telefoontje van rector Arend Smit; toen ik de klas inliep hadden 2 leerlingen het ook al via Hyves gehoord… wat een onsteltenis en verdriet. Gelukkig waren er 16 paar schouders; de tranen rolden en we deelden ons verdriet.top |
| Nadat we om 5 uur op de universiteit terug waren, hebben we eerst bij elkaar gezeten. Mw. Nieuwerth vroed de leerlingen om naar hun kamer te gaan en rustig hun gedachten, herinneringen en emoties op te schrijven.Om 6 uur kwamen we bij elkaar in de zithoek, een fijn plek om elkaar op een verdrietig moment te ontmoeten en er voor elkaar te zijn. We delen hier wat we schreven.. voor wie dat wilde natuurlijk. |
| Voor Henry.Fa waka goede vriend… we deelden in Canada samen prachtige leerrrijke momenten.De dag na je overlijden zijn we met team 4 naar de Bay of Fundy geweest… een goede plek om je te gedenken. Ian Forgerty vertelde ons het verhaal van de inuits, de first nations als eerste bewoners van Artic Canada. Het klimaat was er bar, geen planten en bomen.. niets om een wegwijzer te maken.Om elkaar toch te kunnen vinden en de weg te wijzen bouwden de inuit zgn ‘Nuskshuks’. Dat zijn menselijke gestalten van gestapelde stenen. Voor mij was jij een meester Nukshuk… een fantastische raadgever en richtingaanwijzer voor jouw teamleden van Expeditie 5.Samen met jouw team gaan we het avontuur in Suriname afmaken. We houden het beeld van de Nukshuk vast….. Wijs je ons als het nodig is de goede richting van boven?

| Voor de ouders van team 4: we willen jullie graag laten weten dat het ondanks alle verdriet goed gaat.Dit team vier is er voor elkaar… jullie mogen trots zijn op zulke kanjers die in moielijke onstandigheden als nu zo goed voor elkaar kunnen zorgen. |
| Voor Christien.. allemaal wensen we jou en jullie kinderen veel kracht en sterkte toe.We hebben gebeden,gepraat, gehuild en verhalen gedeeld over Henry.Omdat we zover eg zijn willen we dat graag delen en je kracht toe wensen.. er zal vast nog wel meer bij komen de komede dagen. |
| Voor Team 5.Wat mis ik jullie nu ontzettend….en wat zullen we meneer Kap missen, die nog maar pas geleden met jullie die fantastische Suriname avond organiseerde. Hier met team4green in Canada delen we ons verdriet en hebben we steun aan elkaar ik.. maar ik kan niet bij jullie zijn.. dus op afstand een hele lange arm om jullie allemaal heen; laten we met trots en repect aan onze coach Henry Kap denken. Ik weet zeker dat Meneer Kap zou willen dat jullie/wij onze klus als team afmaken, hij gaf nooit op.. in zijn kracht als coach kunnen wij nu steun vinden..Maandag op school zullen jullie ongetwijfeld bij elkaar komen, misschien kan mr Schaefer me bellen, zodat ik even met jullie kan praten? Meneer Kap gaf zich 100% voor jullie als team en de opdracht in Suriname, laten met tranen in onze ogen hem zo herdenken. |
| Zaterdagmorgen 6 uur.We hebben de planen gewijzigd en gaan niet om 6 uur op pad. We vertrekken om 8 uur naar de Bay of Fundy en gaan een lange strand wandeling maken…. we zoeken de mooiste stenen en schelpen en nemen die mee naar ‘huis”. We maken in de zithoek een plekje met een foto, een kaars en die mooie stenen….om aan Henry te denken als het moeilijk is. Die stenen nemen we mee en geven die als we terug zijn aan Christien.Zaterdag 23:00 uur.Moe en voldaan thuisgkomene van onze dagtocht langs de Bay of Fundy.De leerlingen van team 4 legden in mooie besalt stenen een herinnering aan Henry.
Maandag 15:00 uur. Wat fijn om even met jullie, team 5, te kunnen bellen….. fijn dat ook mijn naam op de krans van team 5 mag staan. Wil je het gele shirt schrijven: Nukshuk, rust in vrede, Bob. Als je het verhaal hierboven leest berijp je wel waarom. Tot gauw….

| Van Wytse.Missen is iets wat vaak voorkomt in het leven.Vaak als je op vakantie gaat, dan mis je elkaar.Maar dit gaat niet snel over…. meneer Kap, ik mis u!! |
| Van Willemijn.Ik, Willemijn heb nu bijna 2 jaar gym van meneer Kap. Ik vond hem vanaf het begin aardig en voelde me helemaal op m’n gemak. Meneer Kap was een van de aardigste en behulpzaamste leraren. Ook een echte levensgenieter die altijd lachte en voor iedereen klaar stond. Hij had een goed gevoel voor humor en was volgens mij een geweldige vader en man.Ik ben echt een ramp in gyn en vind het turnen doodeng. Maar meneer Kap maakte er altijd iets leuks van zodat ik het ging proberen en met zijn hulp lukte het dan meestal wel. Hij was aardig en liet weten dat ik het goed gedaan had. Als ik denk aan meneer Kap, denk ik aan vriendelijkheid en vind het erg dat we hem nu moeten missen. Maar ik denk dat meneer Kap liever zou willen dat we het een plekje geven en door gingen met leven en lachen. Meneer Kap zou dan zeggen: “Altijd blijven lachen.. want lachen is gezond”. |
| Van Annelieke.Het leven is gewoon zo oneerlijk, dat is het enige wat er nu door mijn kop gaat. Meneer Kap was de laatste op aarde die dit verdiende. Hij was altijd vrolijk, ALTIJD. Hij gaf je altijd het gevoel dat alles lukte, dat je zo speciaal bent. Alles wat je eng vond om te doen met gym lukte met door hem. Ik zal nooit vergeten hoe die lieve meneer Kap trots naar mij keek met acrogym als ik de spagaat deed, of hoe ike de handstand overslag steeds beter deed door de tips die hij mij gaf. Ik heb 2,5 jaar gym van hem gehad en zoveel geleerd. dat zal ik nooit vergeten. Ik ben een kletskous en als ik soms te veel praatte moest ik op de lijn gaan staan en pas als die ging bewegen., mocht ik weer praten, ha ha, nooit dus. Ik mis hem en zal dat altijd blijven doen. |

| Saturday May 9th 2009 |
| By Team4green reporters.Today we had a busy progam, which we had to follow despite all our sorrow for mister Kap.We know for sure that mister Kap would still want that we should go on with our project.So in the morning we went to the Hopewell Rocks. That is a beach with a lot of beautiful rocks craved out by the tides.After our admiration for the rocks we went to a farm where they hold horses and where we rode with a horses drawn wagon through the landscape from Canada.To still our hunger we ate at the farm and went back to the beach to see fossils and walk bellow the clifs (this couldn’t earlier because the floodline rose to fast) we also did tests for biology too.
In the evening we made a camp fire and ate hotdogs and marshmallows. After sitting around the camp fire we went back to the university and had a lot of student sport in the fitness hall of the university.

| By Team4green reporters.Today we started very calmly. We slept out till ten o’ clock.We went to a little cafe where we had eaten before, but today we didn’t eat bagels with eggs and cheese but we could eat anything we wanted.A lot of the students where very hungry and went to the supermarkt to buy some food.Behind the supermarkt was a souvenir shop where we also went in.After shopping we rode through the wonderful landscape of Canada.
We saw the beautiful Grand Lake. When we came to the student house where we are staying, we got the keys for our rooms. After unpacking our bags we got a dinner with garlic bread and lasagne. The rest of the evening we came together to discuss things for tomorrow. |

| Monday May 11th 2009 |
| By Team4green reporters.Today we woke up early in the morning and we had breakfast at 07:30 am. It was an English Breakfast today! It was very nice. We ate eggs, toast, potatoes, bacon and sausage.After breakfast we went to the second High School: Cambridge Narrows.We had a nice meeting with them all. We went to the gymhall of the school for an introduction with everyone.After the introduction we had a bustour through the area. We went also over the water on a ferry.
For lunch we had lasagne with bread in the cafeteria, it was very nice! We went on a GPS hunt. Everyone split up in small groups. Most of us have never used a GPS. We had supper in the town hall with the mayor. We ate salmon, fiddleheads, potatoes, carrots and coleslaw. The dessert was vanille ice-cream with rubarb and strawberry cake. In the evening we went to a big hall were we played lasergame, bowling and different kinds of games. It was a great day. |

| 12-05-2009By Team4green reporters.In the morning we had breakfast with the students of the Cambridge Narrows after the breakfast we went with a school bus to Ducks Unlimited (a museum) in that museum we played two games in the first game we had some pictures and then you have to find the right explaining. In the second game we have learnt about the beginning of a wetland. We had a big map and then we had to put the pictures on the map so you can see how it works. After the museum we ate at the park and then we went to the government and there they talk about us and our plan and after that we ate. |

| Wednesday May 13th 2009 |
| By Team4green reporters.Today we woke up like every day and made ourselves ready for the day.The first thing we did today was to visited the Harry Miller Midde School, we met some students and went with them in a traditional yellow schoolbus to some nice places.This day was very special for Danique, because she was reunited with the girl she met when she was in Canada last year.The Corlaer students had to make groups with students from Canada and we went together through a museum. After the museam we went to a nice place by a river.After being by the river we went to a resaurant where we ate.
After we ate we went to a market where we shopped for 30 minutes. After the market we said goodbye to the students from the Harry Miller school and went to a Super Store, where you culd buy EVERYTHING. It was a nice day! |

| Thursday May 14th 2009 |

When the morning began after a long, long night with very much pleasure, mr Jones waked us up at 8 a.m. At 8 o’ clock we had a very good breakfast with potatoes, bacon, eggs and a lot of other good things. When everyone packed their bags we left to go shopping. Before we went to shop, we had a break at Tim Hortons.The shopping in Champlain mall in Moncton was very nice and everyone had fun. Of course the girls bought very much and after two and a half hours we stopped shopping. After ten nice days we were going to the airport in Halifax. But first we ate bread at the Subway Our last day in Canada started with packing suitcases… so much stuff to pack!! |

| From Fredericton to Moncton took us 2 hours by car; on our way to the biggest shopping mall of New Brunswick: “Champlain”… shop till you dropp!! |

| Yet 15 minutes after departing from Fredericton is became very silent inthe back of the car….Wonder wha time they went to sleep last night…? |

| Friday May 15th 2009 |
| After a little delay we left Halifax, the flight was smooth. Then we changed in London Heathrow, it took 2 hours and the security check was realy tight!Finaly we arrived at Schiphol airport.. home sweet home :-) |
